Wildcat
Several years ago I had the privilege of sharing the life of a Wildcat from the Scottish Highlands. It was a truly remarkable experience and one of the most rewarding relationships that I've experienced with any wild creature. Recent studies have shown that most of the wildcats in Scotland have some hybrid ancestry and that only about 100 pure Scottish Wildcats (Felis silvestris) remain in the most remote areas of their range. |
